Casino Plan To Follow Proper Social Distancing, Meticulous Sanitizing In Reopening
Each casino laid down their plans that included a virus spread preventive measure like an obligatory social distancing scheme, smoking bans, and improved sanitation.
US casinos plan to reopen
Casino.org reported that casinos in Indiana plan to open its doors to clients as soon as next month. The report surfaced following the announcement of Gov. Eric Holcomb to continue the operations of essential businesses and other facilities.
Jenny Reske, deputy director of the Indiana Gaming Commission (IGC), said that they are working on their business reopening requirements, and they required casinos to submit their reopening plans before welcoming back their customers. Casino workers rallied to call for additional steps that ensure their health and safety for and that of their patrons.
Las Vegas casinos also announced their plan to reopen their operations. Dealers answered the announcement with a call for changes, including a ban on smoking inside the gaming venue.
CEO Caesars Entertainment Corporation and VICI Properties Inc., Tony Rodio, announced their plan to reopen Bally’s Atlantic City Hotel & Casino after the public health emergency related to COVID-19 has passed.
Twin River Worldwide Holdings Inc. purchased the casino for about $25 million in cash. Noel Stevenson, a spokesperson for Caesars, said that the deal acts as a strategic initiative that Caesars Entertainment had been pursuing long before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Nevada’s Casino reopening plans
The Nevada Gaming Commission might ratify new measures to be followed by registered casinos in the State. The latest proposals for health and safety guidelines might include social distancing guidelines in gaming events and slot machines. Casinos might operate at 50% of their capacity when the new guidelines are exercised.
In the new guidelines, only three players might play blackjack games that usually seat six players. Only four players are allowed to play poker, and four for roulette. The reopening also requires cleaning and disinfection of all casino corners as required by the guidelines written by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Gov. Steve Sisolak failed to announce the actual date of reopening while the commission is considering the new guidelines on Thursday during a special meeting. The new instructions might include proper social distancing between gaming machines. The workers of the gaming venue will impose strict measures to ensure that guests do not congregate in groups.
Gaming regulators also advised removing chairs in front of gaming machines. It also recommended that constant cleaning and disinfection should be done on computers, devices, chairs, and other pieces of equipment.
They also suggested that the use of cleaning equipment for regular cleaning and disinfection of rails, chairs, dice, card shoes, shufflers, Pai Gow Poker tiles, pit podiums, discard holders and token boxes every time a new player comes in. Regulators are required to submit reopening plans at least seven days before the date.
