Pechanga Resort Casino in Temecula plans to start accepting gamblers, tentatively, June 1, after almost two months of halting operations due to heightened government measures in the fight against covid-19. The officials of the resort said that they would confirm the actual reopening date in the coming days.

Casino plans to implement covid-19 preventive measures

The plan to reopen came after the officials of California started to loosen some of its covid-19 countermeasures. Casinos in the area are now preparing for their reopening. According to an official, they plan to impose covid-19 preventive measures to ensure the safety of everyone.

The preventive measures will include reducing the number of slot machines. They also plan to practice social distancing by moving table games around the casino floor.

Officials of the casinos said that they would require employees to continually wear face masks and checked for temperatures before the start operating every week. The gamblers will wear face coverings when they are inside the casinos.

Casino officials might postpone the opening of its spa and pool, and there shall be gatherings in Pechanga like concerts or other similar events. They also plan to install sanitizing stations inside the Casino. The Casino plans to sanitize the areas with a high frequency of contact between employees and customers more frequently.

The announcement to reopen came after the company opened the doors of its RV resort to clients three days ago. RV opened following strict guidelines like limited spaces and stringent safety measures in its aim to protect guests and employees.

Other Casinos announced reopening

Viejas Casino & Resort announced its plan to reopen operations starting May 18 at 8:00 a.m. The Casino will also follow strict covid-19 preventive protocols, as stated in the letter they sent to their clients. According to the letter, the company took advantage of the closure to inspect, clean and sanitize the property inch by inch.

The letter said that they have always maintained the cleanliness and security, but the covid-19 crisis brought it to a different level, cleaning every place from floor to ceiling.

The Casino plans to use the latest hospital-grade UVC germicidal technology in sterilizing the company. The company plans to close areas with high-contact from 3 a.m. too 7 a.m. for disinfection. The Casino also plans to subject employees and clients to temperature checking before entering the gaming house.

Hand sanitizer dispensers will be available to clients and employees, not allowing a person with signs of illness to get inside the premises.

The casino website said that their decision to resume operation came after Governor Gavin Newsom announced their plan to loosen some of its home quarantine orders and other preventive measures in the coming days.

On Thursday, Sycuan Casino reported a new health and safety protocol without announcing a date for reopening. The company partnered with TruClean, a San Diego-based company, in securing the cleanliness and sanitation of the Casino.

The Casino said that they trust the company since its TruClean’s ‘sword-like’ surface layer is internationally registered as a long-lasting disinfectant that destroys bacteria and viruses on contact.
